Week 16! Foot throws and mount/knee on the belly!

Greetings everyone!

We are thrilled to share with you the exciting lineup for this week’s GBK Program. In Class A, we have an action-packed session ahead, where we will be focusing on three fundamental techniques: front break falls, escape from the mount, and knee on belly. We understand the importance of mastering these techniques, as they form the foundation of your Jiu-Jitsu journey. To ensure that you grasp the concepts thoroughly, we have dedicated a significant portion of the class to specific training, allowing you to practice and refine your newly acquired skills.

Moving on to Class B, scheduled for later in the week, get ready to delve into the art of executing double leg takedowns with grips. The ground techniques we’ll be covering in this class include escapes from the Mount and Knee on Belly positions. The instructor will guide you step-by-step through these maneuvers, offering valuable insights and tips to enhance your grappling proficiency.

For our GB1 Fundamentals classes, we have curated a comprehensive curriculum that focuses on essential self-defense techniques. In Class A, you will learn the intricacies of escaping a bear hug from under the arm, countering an opponent’s grips effectively, and executing the outside hook takedown. The knowledge and skills you gain from these techniques are invaluable in real-world scenarios.

But that’s not all! In the same class, you will also be introduced to escape strategies from the Mount using the bridge technique, along with another escape and how to recover your guard position. Early this week, our drill will center around the open guard position, a versatile and critical aspect of Jiu-Jitsu that every practitioner should master.

As we move forward to Class B in the GB1 Fundamentals program, be prepared to dive into yet another bear hug escape technique and how to efficiently escape from the Mount position. These classes will be rounded off with focused specific training, where you get the opportunity to fine-tune your skills through practical application and partner drills.

Our GB All-Levels class is designed to cater to practitioners of all levels, providing a diverse range of techniques to enrich your Jiu-Jitsu journey. In this class, we’ll focus on the O Soto Gari, a powerful throw that transitions smoothly into a dominant mount position. Additionally, you will learn a Mount escape using the knee to elbow technique, effectively transitioning to the Half Guard. To further enhance your repertoire, we’ll introduce you to a Technical Mount escape variation to Half Guard. By the end of this class, you will feel more confident and well-versed in your grappling capabilities.

For those attending the GB2 Advanced classes, get ready to take your skills to new heights. We will be exploring a foot sweep from the back while maintaining control of your opponent’s arm. This advanced technique requires finesse and precision, and our experienced instructor will be there to guide you every step of the way. Additionally, the class will cover armbars and triangles from the mount position, elevating your ground game to an elite level.

With such an exciting and diverse range of techniques on the agenda, we can’t wait to see you all on the mats! Let’s train hard, support each other, and continue to grow as martial artists together. See you soon!
