In the Tiny Champs and Little Champs I classes, safety is our utmost priority. This week, participants will delve into break fall variations, a fundamental skill ensuring a secure descent. Additionally, they’ll explore the intricacies of the 1-arm-under pass, a technique designed to enhance ground control. Adding a dash of offense, our young practitioners will be introduced to the art of executing a Single Leg Takedown with Grips, broadening their arsenal of effective moves.
Advancing to Little Champs II and Juniors, the focus remains on perfecting Headlock escapes, reinforcing the techniques learned in the previous week, and solidifying their understanding of fundamental moves. This emphasis on foundational skills lays the groundwork for a lifelong Jiu-Jitsu practice.
For our dedicated GB1 Fundamentals Class A students, this week revolves around defense techniques. They’ll acquire the skills to effectively block front kicks and elbows, crucial for maintaining distance during a fight. Ground aficionados will appreciate lessons on Opening the Guard standing and executing a Leg Drag Guard Pass. These techniques promise smoother transitions and enhanced control while passing an opponent’s guard. The Class A drill centers on perfecting the guard pass technique, ensuring students grasp the finer details of this essential move. Throughout the week, their focus will also extend to improving their guard game, a crucial aspect of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
In Class B Fundamentals, participants will explore a different set of skills, learning additional methods of blocking strikes and diving into a variety of Guard Passing techniques. The drills in Class B are strategically designed to reinforce and strengthen their guard passing skills. The classes will conclude with specific training, providing an opportunity for students to apply what they’ve learned in a dynamic and interactive setting.
GB All-Levels classes will introduce advanced techniques, including the art of Single Leg Takedown Defense – a crucial skill in thwarting opponents’ takedown attempts. Students will also explore a Guard pass standing with a cross grip, offering a powerful method of passing an opponent’s guard. Finally, they’ll dive into an effective Guard Pass to Knee on Belly position, an advantageous posture for controlling and dominating an opponent on the ground.
