Welcome to another exciting week at GB Centennial, where passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu meets expert instruction. This week, we are thrilled to present a diverse array of techniques tailored for every skill level. Whether you’re a Little Champ, a member of our GBK Juniors program, diving into the fundamentals with GB1, or mastering advanced moves in GB2, there’s something special awaiting you on the mats.
Little Champs Program:
In the Little Champs class, our young warriors will focus on essential self-defense moves. They will learn how to escape from a standing Rear Choke and master the art of recovering guard from the Turtle position. Additionally, they will be introduced to the sit-up sweep, a fundamental maneuver in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. In Class B, the students will delve into the intricacies of the One Hand Shoulder Throw and explore submissions from the Guard Bottom position.
Our GBK Juniors will be working on honing their Closed Guard techniques. They will practice the Closed Guard Sit-up sweep and the One Hand Shoulder Throw in both Class A and B. Furthermore, instead of the usual Recovering Guard from Turtle, students will be taught a unique sweep and submission handpicked by our expert instructors. The session will conclude with specialized training exercises tailored to enhance their skills.
For our GB1 Fundamentals classes, the week kicks off with learning how to effectively block punches from the Closed Guard, refining clinch techniques, and mastering the triangle choke. Students will then progress to the sit-up sweep and the Kimura lock from the Closed Guard position. Later in the week, the focus shifts to distance management, knee shield, and spider guard positions. An exciting addition to the curriculum includes mastering a sweep from the spider guard. As always, classes will wrap up with specific training drills to reinforce the skills learned during the session.
In our GB2 Advanced class, students will delve into more intricate techniques. They will explore smooth transitions to the guard and practice a sacrifice throw chosen by our experienced instructors. Additionally, participants will learn the art of executing an armbar from the Closed Guard, taking the opponent’s back from this position, and performing an omoplata sweep utilizing the lapel. The session will also cover a hook sacrifice throw, enhancing the students’ repertoire of advanced moves.
We’re thrilled about the upcoming week and can’t wait to see you on the mats, ready to learn and grow in your Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey!
