Week 12 – Clinches, Holds, Foot Throws & Back Turtle

Week 12 is upon us! Before we talk about what our classes will be working on this week, the GB Centennial Team is excited to announce that anyone who is in or has served in the military trains for free from May 15th – May 29th! Tell your friends and family!

In our GB1 class, we will start by escaping from a front bear hug position. After, we will move on to taking the back from the turtle position. Our drill this week will involve clock chokes, side-mount control, and transitioning to the mount from side control.

In our advanced class, we will work on our stand-up technique. This will include foot and leg throws. Much like our other classes we then work on recovering guard from the turtle position. The class will end with specific training of our professor’s choosing.

In the GB Kids class, our self-defense portion of the class will include standing rear choke escape. We will transition into learning more about turtle position and how to take the back of an opponent from here. We will finish off strong with some specific training.
