Welcome to the week 10 of Gracie Barra curriculum! This week students will have the opportunity to learn and master various self-defense techniques. Let’s take a look at what each class has in store for you this week:
- Juniors: In this class, juniors will focus on developing their self-defense skills. They will learn an Outside Hook Takedown and a Bear Hug Escape. Additionally, they will cover an Outside Hook Variation and a self-defense Bear Hug escape. To wrap up, both Little Champions 1 & 2 will engage in specific training exercises. Furthermore, instructors will demonstrate an attack from the Mount
- GB1 Fundamentals (Adults & Teens): This class is designed to build a strong foundation in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The session will begin with the standing Guillotine technique, followed by the X Choke from Mount. Students will also be taught technical mount finishes. The drill for the day will focus on transitioning from the technical mount. As the week progresses, instructors will demonstrate standing escapes from side headlocks. Students will also be introduced to the Straight Armbar and the Key Lock Submission from the mount. The second drill will involve opening the guard, passing to the Mount position, and executing a submission. Specific training exercises will revolve around the Knee on Belly position.
- All-Levels: This class welcomes students of all levels of experience. Throughout the week, participants will learn the Kata Guruma throw, the X-Choke from mount, and the Bow & Arrow submission from Technical Mount. It’s a great opportunity to expand your skill set.
- GB2 Advanced: Geared towards advanced practitioners, this class will cover a variety of techniques. The session will begin with a Hand Throw, followed by ground techniques focusing on escaping from the Knee on Belly position and executing a Mount Escape to Single Leg X. The class will conclude with 5-minute rolls, providing an opportunity for students to apply their skills in live training.
