Week 1 Gracie Barra – Pulling Guard, Scissor Sweep and More

Published on

4 min read

In our GB1 curriculum, we will work on escape from side-mount and recovering guard. Afterward, we will practice pulling to guard against a standing position and the scissor sweep. We will finish off with specific training.

This week our advanced class will start with a stand-up technique. Our professor will decide which transition to guard or sacrifice throw will be taught. As usual, we will finish with the ground technique. This week our ground technique has to do with the bottom guard position.

In the Gracie Barra Kids Program, we will be working on distance management and body language in the self-defense portion of the class. Afterward, we will transition into guard control.

We look forward to seeing you on the mats!
