October 3 will be a special day at Gracie Barra Centennial.
We are excited to welcome Pedro Marinho to our School for an exclusive Jiu-Jitsu seminar, free for all active Gracie Barra Centennial students.
But this day will be about much more than a seminar. It will be a celebration of Jiu-Jitsu, commitment, community, and the legacy we have built together over the past nine years.
Train With Pedro Marinho
Pedro Marinho is one of the top competitors representing Gracie Barra on the international Jiu-Jitsu stage. He is a 2021 IBJJF No-Gi World Champion and has competed against many of the best grapplers in the world.
Having an athlete of Pedro’s level on our mats is an incredible opportunity for our students to learn, train, and experience high-level Jiu-Jitsu right here at Gracie Barra Centennial.
The seminar is FREE for all active Gracie Barra Centennial students.
Space is limited, so please reserve your spot in advance.

Two New Gracie Barra Centennial Black Belts
October 3 will also mark another major moment in the history of our School.
We will be awarding black belts to CJ Kennett and Chris Lee.
For CJ, this moment brings our story full circle.
CJ was the very first student to sign up at Gracie Barra Centennial more than nine years ago. He has been part of our School from the beginning, growing alongside us and representing the commitment and perseverance that Jiu-Jitsu requires.
More than nine years later, we now get to watch that first student become a Gracie Barra black belt.
Chris Lee will also receive his black belt, recognizing years of training, dedication, consistency, and commitment to Jiu-Jitsu and our team.
A black belt is never just about learning techniques. It represents thousands of hours on the mats, difficult days, great days, victories, setbacks, friendships, and the decision to keep showing up.
We are proud to celebrate this milestone with both CJ and Chris.
Professor Jefferson Moura Joins Us
We are also honored to have Professor Jefferson Moura with us for this special day.
Professor Jefferson is a 6th-degree Gracie Barra black belt with decades of experience in Jiu-Jitsu. His connection to Gracie Barra goes back to the original Gracie Barra School in Rio de Janeiro, where he trained under Master Carlos Gracie Jr. and later served as head instructor. His presence makes an already important day even more meaningful.
Keeping the Legacy Alive
When Gracie Barra Centennial opened more than nine years ago, we couldn’t know exactly what the years ahead would bring.
Students walked through our doors for the first time. Kids grew up on our mats. Families became part of our community. White belts became blue, purple, brown, and black belts.
Now one of the first chapters of our story comes full circle as our very first student becomes a black belt.
At the same time, another generation of students is just beginning its journey.
That is what keeping the legacy alive means.
We learn from those who came before us. We put in the work ourselves. Then we help the people coming behind us.
We hope our entire Gracie Barra Centennial family will join us on October 3 to train with Pedro Marinho and celebrate CJ Kennett and Chris Lee as they reach one of the biggest milestones in Jiu-Jitsu.
