The People On This Mat Were Chosen Carefully. Every One of Them.

Our instructors are not just technically qualified. They are the right people. Every instructor at Gracie Barra Centennial holds a current ICP certification, has passed a thorough background check, and meets a standard of character and conduct that no belt alone can certify.

At Gracie Barra, titles are earned, not assigned. Black belt instructors are addressed as Professor. Those titles mean something here, and the people who carry them know it.

Professor Goodloe began training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at 39 and earned his black belt at 47 under Professor Rafael Oliveira who trained at the original Gracie Barra school in Rio de Janeiro from the age of 12. That lineage runs directly to this mat.

Over 75 competitions. IBJJF Pan American medals at every belt level from white through black. A father of six, an entrepreneur, a practicing Catholic, and a lifelong student of this art. Professor Goodloe built Gracie Barra Centennial to be exactly what he wished had existed when he was looking for something real.

He still trains every chance he gets. That’s intentional.

Professor Junior Gois is the lead instructor and day-to-day manager of Gracie Barra Centennial. He joined the school three years ago as a brown belt and was promoted to black belt by Gracie Barra in 2024, a milestone that reflects both his technical development and his commitment to the school community.

Junior grew up in Brazil, training across Brasilia and Fortaleza, and began his jiu-jitsu journey in 2012. His background is rooted in the Gracie Barra system, and he brings that foundation to every class he teaches, whether working with a brand-new adult in the Fundamentals program or preparing a competitor for the tournament mat.

As lead instructor, Professor Gois is responsible for the quality and consistency of instruction across all adult programs. He teaches most of the weekday and weekend classes and sets the tone for how the school trains and how its culture is maintained. His style on the mat reflects his personality off it: technically precise, patient with beginners, and demanding in the best possible way with students ready to be pushed.
For Professor Gois, jiu-jitsu is not just something he teaches. It is how he lives. That attitude shows up every day he walks onto the mat, and it is one of the reasons GB Centennial students keep coming back.

Professor Terrell Brown, known to his students as T, began his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey in 2001 and has spent more than two decades building one of the most well-rounded combat sports and protective services backgrounds in the school’s history. Before dedicating himself fully to jiu-jitsu instruction, he competed professionally in both MMA and boxing, earning heavyweight and super heavyweight championship titles in MMA competition. His competitive record also includes championship victories at the Gracie Worlds and Gracie Nationals, representing the full range of the sport from professional cage competition to the highest levels of gi competition.

Alongside his martial arts career, T has spent decades in service-oriented roles that few instructors can claim. He brings more than ten years of local and federal law enforcement experience, over twenty years in corporate security and executive protection operations, and an extensive background as a firearms and defensive tactics instructor for both military and law enforcement personnel. That combination of real-world responsibility and technical discipline shapes everything about how he teaches.

On the mat at Gracie Barra Centennial, Professor Brown is known for his precise instruction, his emphasis on practical application, and his ability to meet students exactly where they are. Whether working with a white belt finding their footing or a seasoned competitor preparing for the next level, T brings the same standard to every session: build confidence, sharpen fundamentals, and develop the whole person, not just the athlete.

SPECIALIZED ROLES

Coach Larry

Program Director
Program DirectorFundamentalsAll Levels

Coach Larry Stoiber started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2022 at the age of 22. He was drawn to jiu-jitsu from the beginning for the same reasons that keep most people training long term: the sense of community, the mental clarity that comes from consistent practice, and the physical discipline that the sport demands.

He earned his purple belt and now serves as both coach and program director at Gracie Barra Centennial. In that role, he is often the first consistent face a new student encounters, and he takes that responsibility seriously. His focus is on helping students build the kind of habits and mindset that make jiu-jitsu a genuine part of their lives, not just a phase.

A fourth-generation Colorado native, Coach Larry attended technical school for automotive repair and brings a hands-on, practical approach to his work both on and off the mat. His long-term goal is to continue growing within the jiu-jitsu community and eventually run his own academy. Outside of training, he enjoys strength training, trying new foods, and gaming.

Coach Traci Monaghan watched both of her kids train for months before she finally stopped resisting the pull and stepped onto the mat herself in November 2024. That moment changed things. Jiu-jitsu pushes her mentally and physically, and gives her a genuine mental break from the weight of daily responsibilities. She found something on this mat that she wasn’t expecting. Now she teaches it.

Coach Traci loves leading the women’s class, and she has a specific dream: a day when there are more women on the mat than men. She is working toward that one class at a time. Outside of jiu-jitsu, she is happiest spending time with her family, a barbell in her hands, or picking up a new hobby most recently embroidery. One important thing to know: she has very high standards for both coffee and food.

Coach Lavinia Goodloe has been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since July 1, 2017, the day Gracie Barra Centennial opened its doors. She has trained continuously since that first day and now holds a four-stripe purple belt. She is the lead instructor for the school’s women’s program and one of the primary instructors in the adult Fundamentals curriculum.

Born and raised in Italy, Lavinia brings a calm, methodical approach to her teaching that reflects both her personality and her training philosophy. She emphasizes control, patience, and understanding over speed or force, and she has a particular gift for helping newer students develop confidence through technical precision rather than physical dominance.

Lavinia is fluent in English, Italian, and Spanish, with developing Portuguese, which allows her to connect with a wide range of students across cultural backgrounds. She has been instrumental in building the women’s community at GB Centennial, creating an environment where female students feel supported, challenged, and genuinely welcomed. Married to Professor Robert Goodloe, Lavinia is one of the most familiar and trusted presences in the school.

Coach Alexa

Blue Belt
Assistant Kids Program

Coach Alexa Saraniero began training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at age 13 after moving to Colorado from Virginia. She found in jiu-jitsu what a lot of people find when they arrive at a new place and need to rebuild: a community, a challenge, and a reason to show up every day.

She holds a blue belt and has been coaching for two years at Gracie Barra Centennial. Several members of her family train at the school alongside her, which speaks to the kind of environment she has helped build and the confidence she has developed in recommending jiu-jitsu to the people closest to her.

A student at Thunderridge High School, Alexa balances academics with her coaching responsibilities and her own continued development on the mat. Outside of jiu-jitsu, she loves traveling, particularly to Costa Rica where her family has roots, and she enjoys visiting art and history museums.

Alexa brings energy and genuine care to every class she coaches. She remembers what it was like to be new, and she coaches with that empathy front and center.

Coach Ros

Kids Program

Coach Rosalyn Riviera started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at the age of 11, giving her one of the longest athletic backgrounds on the GB Centennial coaching staff. Now in her late teens, she brings five years of training experience and three years of coaching experience to the mat.

Rosalyn graduated from Arapahoe High School and is currently working toward her nursing degree while simultaneously completing CNA training, which she began at age 17. The discipline required to manage serious academics alongside serious athletic training is something she lives daily, and it shows in how she teaches.

As a blue belt and one of the younger coaches on staff, Rosalyn has a unique ability to connect with younger students and with adult beginners who are just starting to find their footing on the mat. She is patient, encouraging, and technically sound, a great coach for the kids program

During summers, Rosalyn spends time in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, but her training and coaching commitments keep her connected to the GB Centennial community year-round.
