Gracie Barra Week 7 – Passing Guard

Published on

4 min read

This week at Gracie Barra we are working on passing guard. Do you have trouble passing the closed guard? The Spider Guard? Even Lasso Guard? If so, this is a great week to come to class.

In our fundamentals program we are working the classic push kick for distance control and distance management from a jab to the double leg takedown. We are also breaking down the basics of passing the guard over the knees. And, finishing the pass even after you are caught in a half guard. Finally we are showing ways to get pass the pesky spider guard. You are going to love classes this week.

In the advance classes our professors and coaches are sharing timeless leg grab techniques as the single leg and double leg takedowns. Then, sharing their top guard passes to help your game.

In the GB Kids program we are also working passing guard. In addition our kids learn distance control and a double leg takedown. The word of the week is inspiration: the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative.
